Being essentially lazy about writing, I thought I'd just copy and paste what I wrote over at the Yahoo groups Sisterhood of James site. I think we're mostly all the usual suspects, so sorry for the repetition! Just wanted to poke my head in and say "hi" and wave to everyone!
Nancy
Hi there, everyone! I just noticed that this group has started up
again, and I'm delighted to be in touch with all of you after so
long, as I really have missed you.
I see that the group has been opened up, and Mrs T has told me about
Team Brit (oh no--does this mean I have to *finally* learn how to do
livejournal?????) and the new forum. I had a quick look at the forum,
and it's great! Kudos to you, Mrs T, for taking it on.
For those who don't know me, I'm a more recent James fan than some,
deciding on a whim to go to the Buffy Vulkon in Houston, having just
seen a couple of episodes (starting in 2005!). I had really been
looking for a Star Trek con, but there wasn't one going on at the
time, and, well, that Buffy show seemed really interesting,
especially seeing as it had "the coffee guy" (Tony Head) and that
fascinating character, Spike.
Needless to say, I met some wonderful people, some of which I am
still friends with, had loads of fun, and saw the actor who played
Spike, and who was beginning a solo singing career as an adjunct to
his acting, and who pissed off nearly everyone in the Q&A audience
with some funny regurgitated TV-documentary talk about men and women
and especially women over and under "a certain age". I thought it was
one of the funniest things I'd ever seen, and I couldn't wait for
more. I also really admired how James just went for the singing,
steadily improving.
That was back in 2005, and I've been lucky enough to see James
several more times in the interim. I've also been lucky enough to
have met many of you, who have become so dear to me!
So, here I am, back again!
Hugs to all,
Nancy
